  • One of 50 local government professionals participating in a nationwide convening to address the NAPA grand challenges local government jurisdictions are facing.

 

Board Member, Women’s Literary Festival | January 2019 — December 2019

  • Organized an annual literary festival committed to showcasing women writers who champion social justice.

 

Leadership Santa Barbara County | August 2017 — May 2018

  • Participated in leadership development course with a class of nonprofit, government, and business professionals. Completed a fundraising campaign to benefit Isla Vista Youth Project’s expansion of facilities for newborn-baby care.

 

Member Manager, YALSA’s The Hub | August 2015 — August 2017

  • Coordinate editorial calendar and edit content from contributing bloggers
  • Redesigned blog to give it a fresh, modern look; re-organized content to aid in discovery and navigation
  • Work with the YALS and JRLYA editors and YALSAblog manager as appropriate to coordinate dissemination of information to members and the library community
  • Develop a calendar for content, based on YALSA events and activities as well as those going on in the larger community related to library materials for teens
  • Transition the blog from a focus on young adult literature to coverage of emerging and new practices for evaluating, selecting and curating materials, including YA literature but also focusing on media and digital resources
